Process Improvement Lead (12 months FTC) – Accountancy & Finance – Tyne & Wear

Reviewing and updating the financial and other processes within the group. A holistic view should be taken focused on major spend areas and processes that need improvement (assessed by controls and efficiencies), which could include:

  • Reviewing contractor spend and defining new processes for control
  • Review and standardisation of reporting and processes on employee related expenses such as mobile phone, company cars, etc.
  • Support Procurement on implementation of Purchase Orders for third party spend controls
  • Review and rationalisation of intercompany processes
  • Simplification of payroll set-up and processes
  • Review and update on credit card and petty cash (including foreign travel) policy and processes
  • Leveraging pre-financial systems more effectively though an end to end process review – for example Zeta/Brightpearl, Transcare/Figtree and PLC/Workday.

The outputs would be clear process documentation meeting control objectives for both today and the new SAP ERP system, embedding those processes and ensuring that reporting is prepared to ensure that process compliance is adhered to.

  • Providing process support across the wider Group. Projects already started or under consideration are:
  • Implementation of expense management in the UK or wider Arriva group (the scope to be determined in July when business case is presented)
  • Improvement to the current travel management arrangements and/or the implementation of a new system
  • The outputs would be clear process documentation meeting control objectives for both today and under the new SAP ERP system, embedding those processes and ensuring that reporting is prepared to ensure that process compliance is adhered to.
