Account Manager


£25,000 - £30,000


Managing a portfolio of clients within the medical/healthcare sector. Upselling medical products and providing consultative support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the office-based, day-to-day lead point of contact for dedicated customer portfolio
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships via telephone contact, email, and other remote / virtual methods
    • Account management for selected existing customers
    • Identification, qualification and close of potential new business opportunities
  • Strive to meet and exceed sales targets & KPIs
  • Effective management and follow-up of inbound sales enquiries
  • Chase outstanding quotes and keep quotes list up to date
  • General sales administration as required
  • Assist in keeping CRM clean and up to date
  • Back-up support to external sales staff as and when required

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Telephone / virtual / remote-based Business to Business Sales / Account Management experience. Please note;
    • This is an office-based role, requiring specialist telephone / remote sales skills and experience
    • Business to Business sales
  • Experience in the healthcare / care home sector is an advantage, but not essential
  • Well-trained in modern sales and customer service skills and techniques
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Personal characteristics

  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills;
    • Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office technology (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook) and Salesforce or another common CRM platform
  • High degree of customer-orientation, strong customer service skills
  • Professional phone manner
  • Team player
  • Outgoing personality

Role is approximately

  • 40% account management - to retain and grow existing accounts.
  • 40% new business (from lapsed customers / leads; very little if any cold- calling is required)
  • 20% Key / National Accounts team support

Salary and Benefits;

  • Basic £25-30K
  • On Target Bonus £4K
  • Company pension scheme on completion of probation period

  • Monday – Friday 08.00-16.30, no weekends

  1. 30-40 min telephone call
  2. Initial one to one interview on site
  3. Final on site Assessment Centre
