The Company

Our client a leading FMCG group are looking to appoint a Quality Assurance Controller in operating at the highest possible standards in Food Safety and producing excellent Quality products at all times.

Job Role

The main function of the position is to maintain and improve food safety and quality management systems

Responsibilities within the role include:

  • Work with Technical Manager to implement Quality Management system throughout operational areas
  • Proactively manage technical tasks for product in development and new product launches (specifications, recipes and batch sheets)
  • Liaise with Production Managers and Supervisors to ensure high standards of food safety and quality are maintained
  • Document and follow non-conformances and process deviations through investigation to corrective actions
  • Complete internal GMP inspections, glass audits and calibration checks
  • Carry out inspections of raw materials and continually improve goods in approval processes
  • Collect micro samples, send for testing, and interpret and report results
  • Liaise with suppliers with regard to product quality and specifications
  • Respond to customer enquiries, including approval questionnaires, product information and complaints
  • Host and monitor external service providers, including pest management and calibrations

The responsibilities required in this role are:

  • Food manufacturing experience in a similar role is would be preferred but not essential.
  • Internal Auditing Experience
  • Degree level educated, science or food technology
  • Food Safety and HACCP qualifications desirable
  • Microbiology Knowledge, training would be an advantage
  • Ability to complete/conduct audits, checks and quality analysis
  • Data collection and report writing
  • IT literate – use of Word, Excel, Database systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • High levels of accuracy in work and a methodical approach
