Our client aims to be a leading international institution for developing and delivering innovative technology solutions in the offshore renewable energy sector. This includes developing relevant technical and commercial knowledge, delivering innovative and commercially relevant research and commercial projects, and testing activities.
Responsible for supporting the Senior Materials Research Engineer on Materials Research projects in the R&DI Blades team.
The role encompasses researching into and developing novel technologies for all wind turbine blade materials and processing techniques, specifically composite materials, adhesives and coatings. Additionally, support will be given to public and privately funded research and test projects, to industrial customers ranging from SME’s to OEMs on all blade materials aspects and to academic staff and students in the Wind Blade Research Hub, and collaboration with the University of Bristol.
Knowledge and practical experience of composite materials and processing are highly desired, particularly around glass and carbon fibre epoxy composites, sandwich structures and out-of-autoclave processing methods. Knowledge of sensor technologies and NDT, data processing and modelling would be beneficial.
You will be a team player with a strong and flexible work ethic, who consistently works to high standards. You will have thorough understanding of materials, and their manufacturing and testing principles.

The RDI Directorate develops and delivers the companies most cutting-edge projects, focussing on the new frontiers being pushed by the sector. As the blade materials project portfolio grows, the RDI team needs to expand its technical capacity to meet this demand.
