PA to Chief Financial Officer – Other – North East England

  • Working with the CFO to anticipate his needs and be responsive, ensuring tasks are completed smoothly and efficiently with minimal input.
  • Diary management
  • Arranging meetings internal and external
  • Ensuring CFO is prepared with any background info./papers required for meetings
  • Arranging travel and accommodation UK and overseas for CFO and wider finance team
  • Electronic filing of all email correspondence received on behalf of CFO
  • Responding to emails on behalf of CFO, anticipating responses where possible and liaising with CFO where not
  • Delegating tasks to other members of the team on behalf of CFO, following up to ensure completion and compliance with any deadlines. Communicate the delegation of tasks effectively.
  • Keeping a record of CFO outstanding tasks and discussing regularly to ensure completion
  • Attending meetings, producing minutes and following up on actions
  • Drafting of Board and Committee papers (e.g. SMI Strategy update).
  • Compiling agenda packs for Committee meetings, liaising internally and with external parties regarding reporting deadlines.  Some liaison with Board/Committee members with regards to meeting arrangements. Complete Audit Committee Papers.

Research & Development Manager – Other – North East England

  • Develop business and services for the Research & Disruptive Innovation team and support the development of R&D proposals
  • Assist with the development of new R&D added value services and commercial opportunities which are of fundamental benefit to in terms of achieving the public funding revenue growth as part of the company strategic plan
  • Build relationships and Partnerships with key national/international experts and research organisations leading to successful bid participation.  This includes supporting the Head of Strategic Research in actively participating in strategic working groups and steering committees.
  • Generate and develop innovative ideas and identify R&D commercial business opportunities
  • Lead/support the delivery of proposal bids/quotations through efficient preparation of detailed, innovative and robust business cases containing key technical, budget and timing plan content (including funding identified and secured/to be secured)
  • Develop commercial/R&D enquiries by working closely with clients, research providers, colleagues and project partners and by representing the company on commercial and technical issues
  • Support product development strategies to meet business needs and create business opportunities and advise/analyse proposed bids and strategies to aid stakeholder buy-in
  • Support the analysis, understanding and solution search to key problems and challenges in the offshore renewables sector
  • Maintain regular communications with key technology development partners, major turbine OEM’s, tidal developers, universities and research funding councils
  • Be committed to ensuring and maintaining a high standard of health & safety awareness through encouraging safe behaviours
  • Complete ad-hoc duties relevant to the role under the direction of the Line Manager or appointed deputy
  • Undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, experience and skills required fall within the post holder’s capability
