The role:
The Demand Planner will be joining the Demand team, led by the Group Demand Manager. This role may also be an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in a merchandising position.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:
- Working closely with Sales and Brand teams (and other key stakeholders) across the UK and French businesses to ensure that accurate, SKU-level demand forecasts are created and maintained for a portfolio of premium brands.
- Raising and reviewing purchase orders correctly in line with both deadlines and demand requirement.
- Meeting all service and inventory metrics for the assigned brand portfolio.
- Communicating changes clearly and effectively to the rest of the group businesses.
- Reviewing variances in forecasts vs actuals, forecast trend analysis, supplier lead times and customer ordering patterns and adjusting forecasts and methodologies accordingly.
- The identification and countermeasure of potential service issues before they occur.
- Playing a key role in our group S&OP program, ensuring that customer demand is met across multiple distribution centres whilst minimising network excess.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Experience of demand planning and forecasting processes.
- Proficiency in the use of office products (predominantly Excel).
- The ability to work to strict deadlines and with a high attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve challenges.
- The ability to develop and maintain robust working relationships with key stakeholders to promote effective collaboration, along with a commitment to furthering shared goals.
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets to provide valuable insights for informed decision-making.
Desirable:
- Experience in working within a continuous improvement framework.
- Previous experience working within a supply chain and/or planning role.
- A thorough understanding of supply chain processes, and logistics operations.
- Experience in working with demand planning software tools (such as Sage Inventory Advisor).
