Conveyancing Secretary




BMC Recruitment is delighted to be working with a law firm in Gateshead to assist them in their recruitment for a conveyancing secretary to join them on a permanent basis.


This role is perfect for someone who has existing conveyancing secretary experience and is looking for a new challenge. The role is office based. 


Duties & Responsibilities

The role will encompass providing support to the team and includes:


  • Audio Typing
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and mortgage advisers
  • Ordering online precontract searches
  • Drafting basic contracts and TR1’s
  • Submitting OS1 & K16 searches at HMLR
  • Drafting basic completion statements
  • Updating lender portals
  • Request redemption statements
  • Filing HMLR online applications
  • Completing and submitting online basic SDLT returns
  • Diary management
  • File management


Person specification

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary
  • Strong competency in all Microsoft packages
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
