Audit & Accounts Senior

Responsible for liaising with clients and internal team members to ensure accounts and audits are completed to the very highest standard. Providing support for the wider team and being a point of contact for both clients and junior members of staff answering accounting and audit queries and providing advice.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Support the Senior Leadership Team with workload management activities
  • Providing support and guidance to all junior team members on a daily basis
  • Preparation of annual accounts for a variety of clients, including Leathers more complex clients
  • Ensure clients’ accounts are in line with UK standards and legislation
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and assist with prepping accounts
  • Read and review work completed by junior team members in preparation for senior management
  • Research and provide Senior Leadership Team with recommendations and insight into a number of Account and Audit topics
  • Be involved in completing client audits, supporting on site where necessary
  • Prepare tests for the completion of Audits
  • Review management accounts for bigger clients
  • Support the Accounts Manager with day to day Business Management services
  • Provide the Accounts Manager with a summary of management accounts
  • Preparing detailed budget forecasts and cash flow plans for Accounts Manager to present to the clients
  • Create work plans, delegate tasks, train and mentor other team members
  • Be involved in networking events to represent the firm
  • Carry out Appraisals for Graduates within the Accounts and Audits Team
  • Additional duties may be required due to business need


Person Specification and Core Competencies

  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified or completed the professional stage exams
  • Have experience at a senior level within an Audits and Accounts team
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of UK accounts frameworks
  • Be able to lead, develop and a mentor junior team members
  • Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with work load
  • Be a proactive team player while showing initiative and professionalism
  • Have the ability to quickly solve problems and think logically
