Assistant Savings Manager

My client is a specialist lender and savings bank offering a range of products and services in the UK. Working in the Savings team, this is support role primarily assists in the delivery of effective oversight and governance of a material outsourcing arrangement, covering all aspects of service management, including performance reviews and quality assurance; cost; escalations and risk reporting.

 

Providing a first line control function, working closely with second and third line assurance functions to ensure that service oversight, management processes and structures are operating effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day to day liaison of the outsource partner, acting as an escalation point for any process and performance issues or customer service cases.
  • Playing an active role in ensuring that operational performance is tracked against agreed measures, making interventions and escalations to ensure conduct and operational standards are met and opportunities for improvement are evaluated and actioned.
  • Reviewing customer feedback and management information, measuring baseline satisfaction with services on a regular basis and raising issues through appropriate channels.
  • Responsible for ongoing risk management and reporting; controls management; and continuous service improvement. Compiling reports based on monthly performance for review by senior level committees. Presenting and summarizing key findings in meetings.
  • Engagement with relevant Paragon support functions and challenge. This includes infrastructure services, working with specialists in Infrastructure Architecture, IT Security and Operational Resilience.
  • Develop control processes and interrogate management information using operational knowledge, to assist in maintaining or improving service standards
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and/or developments and making changes to operating processes where necessary
  • Producing and updating policy and procedure documents as necessary
  • Managing, organizing and updating risk information onto reporting systems and tracking actions to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide PA and administrative support to Director of Savings where required

Skills and experience required

  • Strong communication skills; articulate with verbal and written communication, and able to leverage relationships to deliver end goals and build relationships at all levels.
  • Customer focus, with eye for improvements to processes and reporting.
  • Broad commercial and financial awareness, and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues, including customer due diligence.
  • Attention to detail and a ‘get it right first time’ approach.
  • Comfortable managing flow of information, and ability to deliver high quality reporting to tight reporting schedules.
  • Strong numeracy and IT (Microsoft Office) skills.
